Why Choose Us

TPG advises on delivering the critical roads, rail and bridges that connect us, the spaces and buildings where our vibrant communities live, and the essential public facilities we rely on. Our highly skilled team of 170 right across New Zealand bring unique knowledge in a local context and a trusted, independent point of view.

TPG is at the forefront of embracing change, driving progress, and helping to shape our communities of tomorrow. We are building a stronger New Zealand, together.

Experience

Our origins started as a property arm of a state-owned enterprise, which was bought by our founding shareholders. TPG emerged as a New Zealand-owned property and RMA planning consultancy servicing one main contract with Transit NZ, now Waka Kotahi, and then began on its growth trajectory advising many public and private clients. We have constantly evolved as we work towards a sector that can deliver the built environment New Zealanders deserve and need. It is this entrepreneurial and independent approach that helps us chart our own path, together with our clients.

We have stood by our country through defining events and tough times. In the wake of extreme weather, earthquakes, and economic disruption we have been there to advise and support a better, more resilient recovery. To rebuild, reconnect, and reshape our landscape, quite literally. Our projects like the Residential Red Zone acquisition programme in Christchurch, Transmission Gully and the Waterview Tunnel are some of the permanent influences we’ve had on the way Kiwis live and move.

Expertise

What, where and how we deliver development and infrastructure is highly sensitive to our operating environment. How we respond and adapt is testament to our expertise, grounded by our history and values. This is vital for New Zealand, as we continue to play catch-up with our critical infrastructure and buildings.

This makes our people the backbone of what we do. We are inherently Kiwi, bringing unique knowledge in a local context. We have genuine experts across services and locations, collectively delivering the best for our clients.

We Care

Partnership and collaboration are at the heart of our relationships – many which span several years and projects. We prioritise genuine engagement and open consultation into our work with clients, stakeholders, and communities. We are people-focused but also use technology like GIS to ensure our advice and expertise is backed by data-driven insights to inform decision-making.

Nationwide team

Our highly skilled team of 170 offer an independent point of view and have national and regional reach understanding and reflecting the needs of the area. Our specialised expertise focuses on advisory, feasibility, due diligence of land acquisition, disposal, or regeneration, and we navigate the complex resource management and statutory requirements of planning and developing land. We have a depth of understanding across local government, public and commercial projects and energy.

We are building a stronger New Zealand, together. We will continue to upskill to push our capabilities, innovate through technology or new approaches to create better outcomes, and attract and foster new perspectives to challenge our thinking. We know this is what it takes to be New Zealand’s leading property advisory business. Change is inevitable and we at TPG are at the forefront of embracing this, driving progress, and helping to shape our communities of tomorrow.
