Jenny Acker

Senior Property Consultant

Jenny is a Senior Property Consultant based at The Property Group Limited’s (TPG) Christchurch office. Jenny’s legal background in private practice and in-house law enables her to look for practical commercial solutions for clients.

After graduating from the University of Canterbury in 2012 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts, Jenny spent three years working in private legal practice with a particular focus on property and commercial law. Jenny joined TPG in 2018 after spending three years working in the Netherlands as a contracts manager and corporate counsel for an international architecture firm.

Jenny has worked with government entities, territorial authorities, commercial entities, not-for-profit entities and private clients in relation to a variety of property matters including acquisitions, land status checks, due diligence, and leasing.

In the Netherlands, Jenny worked in a multidisciplinary environment and gained an understanding of project development and procurement. She was responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements for design and consulting projects, and worked closely with the business development team on reviewing and responding to tenders. Jenny also undertook corporate governance work and advised senior management and project teams on compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.

In 2010, Jenny won the Wynn Williams Resource Management Prize at the University of Canterbury, which is awarded annually to the top student in Resource Management Law.
