Ian Hutchison
Ian is a Senior Property Consultant based in our Wellington office.
Joining TPG in 2013, Ian has over 40 years’ experience in the acquisition and management of a wide range of properties. He has been heavily involved in the acquisition of land for major State Highway projects, including the high profile Transmission Gully Motorway Project. He has also assisted Kiwibank with the optimisation of its ATM network.
Ian has been involved in various sectors of the property industry in New Zealand. Most recently, he was the Property Development Manager for Foodstuffs Wellington, where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the Foodstuffs Wellington portfolio. Prior to accepting this role, he was involved with the acquisition of land for supermarket development, and also oversaw the planning processes to allow for the development of new stores.
Ian started his working career at the Department of Lands and Survey Christchurch, where he was responsible for the administration of Crown owned property. Following a move to Wellington, he transferred to the Ministry of Works land purchase team, and progressed to the position of District Property Manager. In addition to managing a team of 19 staff, his main responsibilities were the acquisition and disposal of land on behalf of the Crown.
