Hilary Herring
Hilary is a Senior Property Consultant based at TPG’s Wellington office.
Hilary has over 20 years’ experience in the property industry, including eight years of UK property experience, along with asset management, client management, and project management skills across a wide range of projects.
Hilary’s strong project management experience has seen her lead numerous projects for TPG. These include the site acquisition project for the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA), Tāhuhu: Preserving the Nation’s Memory (PtNM) project. TPG worked closely with DIA through a GIS site selection and acquisition process to identify and acquire a suitable site in the Lower North Island for the development of a Regional Storage Repository building to house our nation’s taonga.
As an experienced project manager, Hilary led a team of 40 property consultants nationwide in the delivery of a property risk audit for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA). Utilising industry leading GIS reporting platforms, the national risk audit comprised of 1,840 unique properties.
Hilary’s experience and knowledge of the Crown acquisition and disposal process has seen her lead numerous projects across Government, specifically with DIA, New Zealand Police, NZTA and Oranga Tamariki. Hilary is also the National Contract Manager for the NZTA Survey and Legalisation programme and the Central Region Contract Manager for the NZTA Disposal progamme.
Prior to joining TPG, Hilary worked at the Ministry of Education (MoE) where she was a Project Delivery Manager as part of the Capital Works team, working to deliver new and upgraded schools and classrooms across New Zealand.
In 2009, Hilary joined Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and was part of the team setting up The Crown Property Centre of Expertise, focused on harnessing LINZ’s expertise in Crown Property and assisting Crown agencies in the management of their Crown land portfolios.
