Sara moved into a Property Consultant role in February 2023 and joined the graduate development programme to support her learning. “The Property Group has always been supportive of my development and career ambitions. After starting in administration four years ago, they allowed me to quickly grow the role to be reflective of my strengths and passions. TPG’s development initiative has supported my studies towards gaining a legal executive qualification and their “One TPG” philosophy has provided insight and a taster to many other aspects of the business, including planning, legal, and property where I will now sit.
I love variety in my role and TPG has provided an amazing foundation for this through the projects we work on and the people I have the privilege of working with. I’m excited to continue being a part of the awesome team here in Napier and can’t wait to get stuck in with a number of projects, supported by our talented team.”

“TPG has provided me with a great opportunity to expand my knowledge and given me hands-on learning experience to apply to my studies. I’ve got a great team around me who support and guide me through my development in a professional environment. The work that I’m involved in is giving me a great indication of how my studies can relate to the wider community. My team has enabled me to relocate from the Hamilton office to the Tauranga office and it’s been an amazing change.
Since being involved in the graduate programme I’ve been given the chance to learn about TPG as a whole and all the different expertise across the company. TPG is great on collaboration and using different knowledge to benefit all projects.”

Being part of the graduate programme at TPG allows me to be involved in a myriad of projects, including some larger-scale developments such as Transmission Gully. The intricacies of the projects create an exciting working environment, requiring critical thinking and analysis. I am looking forward to what my future at TPG will bring.”

“Joining TPG as a graduate has been a great experience, knowing you are part of an organisation that invests in the growth and development of your career. I was looking forward to working on a variety of projects across the South Island and learning from experienced planners with different areas of expertise.
I am really enjoying working in the Nelson team as everyone has been super supportive and encouraging. Starting in a small office has been really helpful in settling into the role, everyone is happy to answer my questions and is always there to remind me I don’t need to learn everything in the first week. Our office view over the Nelson Marina is also a great perk on a sunny Nelson day!
I’m excited to hopefully work alongside the property and urban regeneration teams in the future to gain a wider breadth of experience to help me grow into a well-rounded planner. In the near future, I am mostly looking forward to getting to know the wider planning team and finally meeting everyone face to face!”

The support from management has been exceptional and has allowed me to gain experience across many different projects during my first months at TPG.
A particular highlight is an amazing team at the Christchurch office, who made me feel welcome and accepted immediately. Working with such great people makes me look forward to coming to work every day. Their experience and insight have allowed me to develop at a fast rate, and I look forward to learning more about all things property.”
Key to this programme has been increasing our on-campus presence which has enabled us to connect directly with graduates at universities such as The University of Auckland, Massey University and Lincoln University. Alongside this, we’ve worked successfully with Propsle New Zealand and NZUni Talent to connect us with quality graduate candidates.
We wish our graduates all the best as they embark on their careers with TPG, and we look forward to sharing their progress.
