The opening of our Queenstown office in 2019 enabled TPG to have an on the ground presence, and to better respond to the needs of the Queenstown market.
Recent development growth in the Queenstown Lakes District has resulted in increased scrutiny on developers and their contractors to manage the environmental effects of their earthworks projects. Well-publicised environmental incidents in the district have intensified that spotlight, and the local community are highly sensitive to the environmental issues related to earthworks activities.
As a result, the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has released the ‘QLDC Guidelines for Environmental Management Plans’ (The Guidelines). The intent of the document is to raise the bar for environmental performance. The Guidelines categorise earthworks projects as either ‘low’, ‘medium’ or ‘high’ risk. Medium and high-risk jobs require a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) to prepare Environmental Management Plans and Erosion and Sediment Control Plans.
In response to these guidelines, TPG expanded our Queenstown team to include SQEP environmental management services. The team is led by Quinn McIntyre, a Certified Environmental Practitioner who specialises in the field of construction environmental management and is highly experienced in producing Environmental Management Plans and Erosion and Sediment Control Plans.
Erica Walker, a recent addition to the team is TPG’s first Environmental Consultant. Erica has a degree in Environmental Management and has a strong understanding of the Southern Lakes building / development sector through past work experience.
TPG is excited to be involved in the continued development of Queenstown, with a dedicated environmental management team. Please get in touch with Quinn if you have any queries or think TPG may able to add value to your next environmental management solution.
