Known for navigating The Property Group Limited (TPG) clients through the red tape of Resource Management Act (RMA), senior planner Angela Jones has recently gained accreditation to become an RMA Commissioner. Angela, who studied at Auckland University, has been in the planning game for over twenty years now, with almost six years' experience working in the UK.
Angela has been, and is currently, the lead planner behind a number of high profile projects including the Erskine College and Shelly Bay housing developments. All of these projects have thrown up their own unique obstacles to overcome.
While she is an expert with the preparation of large scale resource consent applications made under the Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas Act 2013 (HASHAA) and RMA, she has also processed applications for the Biological Sciences building at Victoria University and numerous central city commercial and apartment buildings. Angela has also worked for Local Authorities in London, Auckland and Wellington.
So, what's her planning advice?
- Engage planners early on in a development project so all RMA and planning issues/matters are front footed.
- It can often add cost and time to a project if RMA and planning matters are not factored into a project early on.
Now that Angela is an independent commissioner she will be able to join hearing panels for resource consents, policy and plan changes and designations. At TPG we are thrilled to add this string to our bow.
