Board
- James Darkins, Non-Executive Chairman
James Darkins has been non-executive chairman of TPG since the company's foundation in 1999.
Over the course of his 30-year career, he has worked for a number of property and buildings related companies in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, including over 13 years in the property investment and development industry.
Since 2001, James has been Managing Director, Property at Henderson Global Investors plc, based in London. He is responsible for Henderson Global Investors' property business in the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia with property assets under management of over $21 billion. Prior to joining Henderson, James was Head of Property for AMP Asset Management in New Zealand and before that was Chief Executive of a number of substantial New Zealand companies.
- Greg Ball, Managing Director
Greg Ball is TPG's Managing Director. Greg has been involved in the property industry for over 30 years. He was instrumental in establishing a crown owned property consultancy company in 1996 and three years later led the management buyout of this company to form TPG. He has subsequently led the growth of TPG to its current 80+ staff in 13 offices. As well as managing projects nationwide, Greg has undertaken property consultancy in Australia, Fiji and the Solomon Islands. He specialises in business/strategic planning, general/change management and project management.
- Rodger Fisher, Independent Director
Rodger Fisher was appointed as TPG's Independent Director in January 2007. He is currently a Professional Director and consulting as a Business Advisor. Rodger holds a number of directorships across a broad range of industries, including electricity distribution services, ports, wood products and waste management. Over the course of his career, Rodger has gained significant business experience, through Chief Executive roles in substantial New Zealand companies in the transportation industry. Other sector involvement includes civil aviation, freight forwarding and logistics management, both domestically and internationally.
- James Clareburt, Executive Director
James Clareburt is a Wellington based Senior Corporate Counsel for TPG and has 12 years experience as a property lawyer, specialising in public land and infrastructure acqusition and disposal matters. James is a key member of TPG's project teams servicing clients in the central New Zealand region, but is also involved in other regions when working on nationwide projects or where his particular expertise is required. James has a particular interest in the law surrounding the Public Works Act 1981, which experience saw him invited to be a member of the Land Information New Zealand's Expert Committee to review their Standards and Guidelines for Accredited Suppliers.
- Nicholas Pointon, Executive Director
Nicholas Pointon leads TPG's Auckland and North Auckland operational teams. Nicholas has 20 years of experience in infrastructural property consulting work. He provides TPG specialist expertise in all facets of property acquisition and disposal, in both public and private sectors. He also has proven expertise in project managing land acquisition for large-scale motorway projects. In addition he is also responsible for management and development of the Corporate Real Estate sector for The Property Group Limited.

- Gareth Kilsby, General Manager Operations & Finance
Based in Napier, Gareth has overall responsibility for the Operations and Finance functions within TPG. Gareth has over 15 years experience in finance, operational and commercial roles across a number of sectors including property, telecommunications, energy and banking. Gareth has worked in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom and has particular experience in investment evaluation, business and strategic planning and process management.
- Wayne Crowley, General Manager Commercial
Wayne Crowley is TPG's General Manager Commercial based in Wellington. Wayne leads TPG's sector management team and strategic planning. With over 18 years experience in the property industry, Wayne provides TPG clients with a wide range of property expertise including project management, strategy development, site identification/acquisition, public and private land acquisition and disposal, and lease management/negotiation.
- Peter Graham, Group General Counsel
Based in Napier, Peter Graham leads TPG's legal team of solicitors and legal executives in providing specialist legal advice to clients. Peter has over 30 years of legal experience and is a nationally acknowledged expert in Public Works Act 1981 compensation and Section 40 requirements. He specialises in public land issues, creation of easements and other legal rights required for infrastructural projects such as roading, power schemes, pipelines and communication networks.
- Gerard Logan - Executive Director, TPG Logan
Gerard Logan has worked in the property industry for over 30 years, forming Logan Stone Limited in 1986 where he was responsible for developing the business from a sole practice business to a multi-disciplined valuation and property advisory team. To concentrate on this advisory and strategic role Gerard formed the Logan Property Group in 2008, and then joined TPG Logan in August 2009. The TPG Logan team provides strategic and innovative advice on property portfolios and business property objectives; ensuring clients maximise their asset base whatever their business activities or goals. The ability to ascertain and deliver on core objectives is paramount but so is the ability to provide new initiatives for consideration and realisation.

- Paddy Pomana-Kemp, Manager Legal Team
Paddy Pomana-Kemp is the manager of TPG's legal team based in Napier. Paddy has over 20 years' experience in transfer of public assets. She has been with the TPG legal team since its inception. She is responsible for effective delivery of high-quality statutory legal services to TPG's Property Consultants and clients. She has also managed major projects on behalf of clients. Paddy was instrumental in setting up a quality assurance system to support TPG legal services delivery.
- Paula Comerford, Sector Manager Housing
Paula Comerford has over 20 years senior management experience in the business, not-for-profit, central and local Government sectors. Prior to joining TPG, Paula was General Manager at Housing New Zealand Corporation, the General Manager properties for IHC New Zealand and Housing Manager at Wellington City Council. At Housing New Zealand, Paula was responsible for establishing a major programmes such as the Rural Housing Programme and the Partnership and Innovation programme so as to support and encourage the community and iwi to play a leadership role in housing provision.
- Ian Bates, Sector Manager Energy
Ian Bates is based in Napier and has over 20 years experience in property consultancy work and is well known in the roading and energy sectors. He brings expertise in negotiation and issue resolution with a specific focus in resolving land acqusition disputes. Ian is experienced in the complex strategy and valuation methodologies associated with such works. Ian is TPG's Sector Manager responsible for Energy.
- Hekiara (James) Puketapu, Sector Manager
Territorial Local Authorities
James Puketapu is responsible for leading TPG's advisory and negotiating team for Territorial Local Authorities. James has over 25 years of property consulting, valuation and management experience - in private practice, central government, and local authorities. He is frequently called upon to resolve difficult property negotiations and conflict situations, Iwi consultation, lease/licence negotiation, due diligence exercises and feasibility studies.
- Mark Heavey, Sector Manager Telecommunications and Manager Central Region
Mark Heavey is based in Wellington and manages TPG operations in the lower North Island. He has several years of experience in commercial and infrastructural property consulting, specialising in Telecommunications. His expertise encompasses acquisition and disposal of property interests for private companies, Crown agencies and Territorial Local Authorities. Having also operated at a senior level in the United Kingdom for three years, Mark has strong asset/property management skills. As Sector Manager, Mark leads TPG's advisory and negotiating team for telecommunications clients.

- Chris Farrell, Manager Waikato/Bay of Plenty/Taranaki Regions
Chris Farrell is based in Hamilton and has over fifteen years' experience in dealing with both private and public sector lands. He is responsible for the effective day to day operational activities of the Hamilton, Rotorua and New Plymouth offices and is actively involved in providing property consultancy advice to a broad range of clients within the telecommunications and energy sectors for a number of Crown departments, Territorial Local Authorities and Regional Councils.
- Tony Fraser, Manager South Island
Tony Fraser is based in Christchurch where he is responsible for the management of the South Island operations. He brings over 25 years experience in the property industry, including 20 years in the public sector having held several senior management positions. He has a background in cadastral surveying and is experienced in the delivery of major client projects, public and private land acquisitions and resolving public land issues.
